Poverty is one of the worse problem in our midst the government has failed to address. This problem is perennial as the grass. Corruption are almost everywhere, both in government and private organizations. There seems to be no solution anymore. Our government is buys politicking.
There are lots of people now who are hungry and sick. Look around us. We can see street children. We can see beggars. We can see shanties under C5, abandoned lands, breakwaters, etc. I remember a quote from Evelio B. Javier, the slain governor of Antique. “The society has call them a beggar a parasite but how do you call a society who made us.”
There are people who cannot eat 3 square meals in a day. Cannot even afford to buy medicine or see a doctor when sick for lack of money. Ironically, we just throw our money buying unnecessary stuff. Drinking spree, gambling. Can we set aside some amount to help these poor people. Let us take part in helping poverty. Let the empowerment come from us. If you’re able to pay the minimum amount on your credit card bills every month but the balances stay about the same, that’s more of a reason to get serious. Sisig is truly Filipino. From what I heard it was concocted by the food loving folks in Pampanga. In fact theres a place in Angeles City, about 10 minutes drive from Clark, where you will find authentic sisig being served. Some even claim this was the place where this humble dish originated.
Originally, sisig was made from chopped parts of a pigs head ears, snout, the brain, etc. Over the years it was reinvented into simple minced meat served on a sizzling platter with chili, liver, onion and seasoned with calamansi and vinegar.
